FAQ
Questions before your first circle
What people usually ask before they come. Anything else, write to us from the Contact page.
What is Shir HaLev?
A song circle on Rosh Chodesh, the new moon that begins each Hebrew month. We open with meditation and ceremonial cacao, sing with a live artist, share in circle and close with a blessing for the month. Not a concert: a circle.
Do I need to be Jewish, or know the songs?
No. The circle is Jewish-inspired and open to everyone. Many melodies are in Hebrew and nobody needs to know the words: listen first, then join in when you are ready.
Do I need any singing experience?
None at all. Bring your voice and your heart; the circle carries the rest.
What should I wear?
White is encouraged, as a way of arriving fresh for the new month. Wear something comfortable for sitting, singing and moving.
What is the cacao?
We open with a cup of kosher, ceremonial-grade cacao: a gentle ritual that helps everyone arrive and open up before the music begins.
Where and when are the circles?
In Miami, on or near each Rosh Chodesh, in the evening. The exact place is shared with the people who register. The next circle is Rosh Chodesh Kislev; its date will be announced soon.
How do tickets work?
Each circle has its own tickets, often with an early-bird price. Circles have sold out before, so join the email list to hear first.
