Not a concert. A circle.

Shir HaLev (song of the heart) gathers on Rosh Chodesh, the new moon that begins each Hebrew month. For thousands of years the new moon has been a time to come together. We're just remembering.

The circleWhat happens at a circle

Each Hebrew month carries its own energy. We enter it together through song, breath and presence, in four movements.

  • Open. We feel into the energy of the new month, settle into a group meditation and share ceremonial cacao, opening the heart before the music begins.
  • Sing. A different live artist leads each month, with original music, Hebrew melodies and devotional song. Nobody needs to know the words.
  • Circle. Room to speak, to listen and to be witnessed. This is where community is built, with people you may have just met.
  • Close. A blessing for the month ahead. You leave different than you arrived.

What to knowCome as you are

No experience is needed, and you don't need to know the words. Bring your voice and your heart. White clothing is encouraged, as a way of arriving fresh for the new month. We begin with a cup of ceremonial cacao and end with a blessing, and in between a different artist leads us in song each month.
